Existing Cyclones in the Eastern Region:

Nil.

Potential Cyclones:

There are currently no significant lows in the region and none are expected to develop through to the weekend. A surge in easterly winds off the central Queensland coast could lead to the formation of a tropical low further to the north early next week. The likelihood of it becoming a tropical cyclone increases slightly to Low from later on Tuesday 17 January to Thursday 19 Janauary.
