Tropical Cyclone Outlook for the Northern Region, including the Gulf of Carpentaria

Potential Cyclones:


There are currently no significant tropical lows in the region. The monsoon trough is likely to become active across the tropics late in the week. Weak lows may develop along the trough in the Timor Sea and Gulf of Carpentaria by late weekend. The lows are not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next seven days.
