Updated Tropical Cyclone Outlook for the Western Region

Issued at 3:09 pm WST on Tuesday 11 April 2023
for the period until midnight WST Friday 14 April 2023.

Existing Cyclones in the Western Region:

At 1400 AWST Tuesday 11 April, Tropical Cyclone Ilsa was named and had a centre located near 14.5S 121.2E, approximately 400km north north-west of Broome. It is forecast to intensify to be a severe tropical cyclone prior to impacting the east Pilbara and west Kimberley coasts on Thursday, moving inland on Friday and rapidly tracking southeast through the interior of Australia whilst weakening on Saturday. As a result the tropical cyclone risk for the Western Region is High through to Friday 14 April and reduces to Very Low from Saturday 15 April.
