if we chopped off the first five entries it'd look pretty realistic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_metropolitan_areas_by_population -skirt

yeah bla + kip adding 40 million cities was a bit much after aeridani + aiyota which was reallly large 10:33, 28 January 2015 (MST)

What do you suggest we do about it? If everyone agrees, I can agree to multiplying the top 5 entries by 0.8. Though maybe Dar shouldn't say 40 million is insane and then add a city with 90 million, and I don't see why the first two to write their cities on the list should bar others from having very high-population cities. - Bla (talk) 07:14, 1 February 2015 (MST)

Okay, the reason Vikasa is so huge is because the "metropolitan area" includes the entire valley and two rivers, while the valley is moderately dense and has continuous development , most of the industry is centered on where the two rivers meet. And the reason the entire valley has ~46 million people is because there are mixing fauna/flora across the islands, fertile (well more than the rest) volcanic soil and some coral growing, so a there is a large amount of (potential) food living in the area. If you want i can just include Akaji-Jyukonsa-Rikasta Darana-Hebhetelli, which has a population of ~34 million and goes from the ring road just above the confluence to the coast. --Swonx (talk) 00:41, 2 February 2015 (MST)
